A delight for lovers of food and drink, the Charente region boasts its own culinary delights and at Les Ombrieres we are privileged to have such fantastic produce on our door step. Great goat cheeses, walnut oil, Limousine beef, Charentais melons, and some of the finest oysters and shellfish can be sourced locally. Not forgetting Cognac and Bordeaux wines.
The kitchen at Les Ombrieres… embodies the philosophy of healthy eating, where every dish is an expression of nutrition and wellness. We strive to use the freshest produce and are continually finding new ways to create exciting things to serve our guests using what seasonal ingredients we have available to us. From cordials and ice-creams made from foraged fruit and herbs, delicious dishes from nature’s seasonal offerings and pickled and fermented harvests from the kitchen garden.
Here, cooking becomes a ritual of nutrition, where the art of food preparation is intertwined with the science of eating well and fostering a deep connection between what we consume and our overall health.
We strive to demonstrate that eating healthily can be both fun and exciting and not just for rabbits.

The Poteger at Les Ombrieres provides the freshest organic produce to our kitchen where seasonality, foraging and no waste are part and parcel of the holistic approach to healthy dining. We believe in sustainability and strive to minimise waste and use organic gardening practices whenever possible.
